This article moves from a reflection on clinical experience in the treatment of post traumatic disorders. In particular, the Author investigates whether regression techniques can prove to be effective when the patient, once stabilised the symptoms, has to confront and elaborate traumatic memories, in order to subsequently integrate them. The Author therefore analyses issues related to the application of these techniques, drawing attention to their advantages, but also highlighting the need for a careful evaluation of the risk of retraumatisation that they can entail. As a conclusion, the Author proposes a segment of therapy in which the reconstruction of the traumatic scene is utilised for re-elaboration and integration purposes.
